Paul H. Rader II

Paul H. Rader II, 92, formerly of Marshall, Ill., and Putnam County, Ind., passed away while living at Cloverleaf Health Care in Knightsville on April 16, 2019.

Paul was born in Greencastle on March 29, 1927, the son of Paul H. Rader and Amy Frances (Poole) Rader.

Paul was a "jack of all trades," as they say, which gave him the opportunity to experience many work environments over the years. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed bird watching, gardening and tinkering around his home.

Paul was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Marshall, Ill.

He also served as a volunteer fireman from 1982-88 with the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department in Reelsville.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Rader and Amy Frances Rader Ellis; four wives, Helen Rader, Josephine (LaFollette) Rader, Betty (Reinhardt) Rader and Betty J. (Junker) Tingley Rader; a daughter: Debra Diane Mace, and a grandson, DeWayne Earl Stearley.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Stearley) Dragon and husband Mike of Brazil and Paula Jo Vanatti of Brazil; a son, John Paul Brunette of Brazil; grandchildren Jeremy Mace and wife Jennifer, Joseph Mace, Brian Stearley and wife Kim, Troy Stearley and wife Jessica, Scott Vanatti and wife Emilee, Eric Vanatti; great-grandchildren Cullen Mace and wife Kaylee, Haley Mace, Noah Mace, Madeline Mace, Gavin Mace, Kyler Mace, Kyleigh Mace, Makonahey Stearley, Keegan Wood, Kallee Vanatti, Weston Vanatti, Elizabeth Payne, Alan Payne and Isaac Hastings.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, on Monday, April 22 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor Mike Pringle officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
