Friday, April 26, 2019

Three Republican races for Cloverdale Town Council will be the only contested races in the Putnam County primary election on Tuesday, May 7.

As such, early voting, which started this week at the Putnam County Courthouse, is only open to Cloverdale residents calling for a Republican ballot.

Early voting will be available on the second floor of the courthouse from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. from Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3.

Additionally, voters can cast an early ballot from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 27; Saturday, May 4; and Monday, May 6.

On Election Day, Tuesday, May 7, Cloverdale residents, regardless of ward, may vote at the Cloverdale American Legion, 501 S. Main St. (U.S. 231) from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

There are three contested GOP races for Cloverdale Town Council.

Shelia Anderson is trying to unseat Gary Bennington for an at-large nomination.

In Ward 1, Jake Day is challenging incumbent Larry Fidler for the GOP nod.

In Ward 2, Rick Dearwester and Coweta Patton are facing off for the Republican nomination for the seat currently occupied by independent Don Sublett.

Patton previously served in an at-large seat, but was defeated in the 2018 general election.

Incumbent Clerk-Treasurer Cheryl Galloway will also appear on the ballot, though she is unopposed in the primary.

    Governmental skulduggery and political chicanery.

Question: Why does a private organization (either of the two major political parties) get special favors from the government (running primary elections)?

Answer: B/c they (Republicans and Democrats) have a vested interest in perpetuating the government THEY control as compared to government being controlled by the people.

Primary elections should be held in private, run by the corporations (yes, political parties are corporations), at the corporations expense.

And early voting is a gateway to vote fraud.
