Cloverdale voters to go to the polls tomorrow

Monday, May 6, 2019

In the only contests taking place in Putnam County, voters in Cloverdale will get the opportunity to have their voices heard and counted in tomorrow's primary election.

The all-Republican races will feature three contests for seats on the Cloverdale Town Council. Sheila Anderson is challenging incumbent Gary Bennington for the at-large seat, while Jake Day will challenge incumbent and current Council President Larry Fidler to represent Ward 1.

Rick Dearwester will also face former Council President Coweta Patton in a bid for the seat representing Ward 2, which is currently held by independent Don Sublett.

Incumbent Cheryl Galloway is running unopposed in the primary to retain her position as clerk-treasurer, but will still appear on the ballot.

Cloverdale residents, regardless of ward, may vote at the Cloverdale American Legion, 501 S. Main St., from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The elections will then be called at the Putnam County Courthouse.
