The second concert of the spring to benefit Beyond Homeless Inc., Putnam County’s homeless shelter and resource center, will feature local artists playing the songs of John Prine.

“Putnam Prine: A Benefit Concert Honoring the Songs of John Prine” is set for 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana St., Greencastle.

The event will feature a number of local musicians including John Bean, Doug Cox, Ron Dye, Gus Moon, Bryan Langdoc, Rick Provine, Rick Smock, Dale and Ella Dye Thomas, Mike Van Rensselaer, Angela Norris White and Chris Wurster.

Multiple Grammy Award-winning John Prine, who has been a working musician since the early 1970s, is best known as a country folk singer and songwriter.

For dinner reservations before or during the concert, call Bridges Craft Pizza & Wine Bar at 653-0021 or visit opentable.com.

There is a suggested $10 donation for the concert with all proceeds to benefitting Beyond Homeless. This is BHI’s fifth year of operation and it not only provides shelter for in-need women and children, but also administers the Homeless Assistance Program and funds a Homeless Prevention Program for non-residential clients.

Supporters are invited to enjoy the music and help BHI continue to work toward alleviating homelessness in Putnam County and assisting individuals in crisis to move toward an independent and hopeful future.

Beyond Homeless officials wish to acknowledge and thank the generous support of event sponsors Gobin Memorial Methodist Church and the Greencastle Arts Council.
