Maxie J. Hassler

Maxie J. Hassler, 75, of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

She was born November 1, 1943, the daughter of Paul & Nancy TeKulve.

She married Richard Hassler on December 9, 1972, and he survives.

In 1972, Maxie joined Richard in running Hassler Trucking. She spent many years in the dump trucking business with their children and grandchildren and made many friends along the way. She was involved in the day to day operations of Hassler Trucking until retirement.

Maxie enjoyed planting and growing beautiful flowers. After retirement they enjoyed traveling the country until they decided to relocate to Florida.

She is survived and remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother to her husband Richard Hassler, father Paul Tekulve; sons Richard Hassler (Jan) and Lonnie Hassler (Teresa); daughters Debra Rose (Dan) and Julee Looker (Bryan); grandchildren Wendy Stevenson (Gale), Bryan Hassler (Ashley), Casey Harris (Mandy), Jonathan Hassler (Haley), Matthew Hassler (Amber), Kyle Hassler (Megan), Heath Hassler (Lindsay), Alyshia Foster, Amanda Foster, Connor Looker, Garrett Looker and Madison Looker; great-grandchildren Dustin, Austin, Ali, Parker, Lukas, Macy, Wesley, Aidan, Malia, Will, Grant, Halyee, Kylie and Evan; great-great-granddaughter Farrah; sisters Vickie Fulton and Kathy Worth (Mike); brother Randy TeKulve (Kim); and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Maxie was preceded in death by her mother Nancy and brother- in-law Woody Fulton.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
