Putnam Scanner for May 18, 2019

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently:

Friday

• At 2:17 a.m., Heath Alan Cloncs, 31, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

Thursday

• At 3:37 p.m., Gerald Lee Pinkham, 47, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 3:29 p.m., Joshua Lee Cunningham, 34, Greencastle, was booked into the jail on a probation violation.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash:

• At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Evvie Timberman, 17, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 231 in a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu when she rear-ended a 2018 Chevrolet Silverdo driven by Learrel Wallace, 74, Greencastle, near East Tall Oaks Lane.

Timberman told Sgt. Riley Houghton that Wallace’s vehicle abruptly stopped in front of her and that she attempted to apply her brakes, which she said failed.

Wallace was also traveling northbound on U.S. 231 and told Sgt. Houghton that he came to a stop behind a school bus when Timberman collided with his vehicle.

Timberman’s vehicle was towed from the accident scene by Seniour’s Towing.

Sgt. Houghton estimated damages at $10,000-$25,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 2835 S. County Rd. 275 E. Units arrived on the scene at 5:27 and assisted the patient. GFD returned to station at 5:42 p.m.

• At 11:08 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Indianapolis Road and 10th Street. Units arrived on the scene at 11:14 and cleaned fluids from the roadway. GFD returned to station at 11:38 a.m.

• At 10:29 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident without injuries at 68 South St. Units arrived on the scene at 10:36 and cleaned fluids from the roadway. GFD returned to station at 11:09 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed four medical assists and had one disregard during this time.
