ParkFest to kick off May 28 with family night, bandshell ribbon cutting
The 2019 ParkFest concert series will kick off Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
This is the 26th year for the series, which is coordinated by the Greencastle Civic League, in partnership with Greencastle Parks and Recreation. This year’s series will be the first in the new Robe-Ann Bandshell, which opened to the public late last year.
For the first event of the series, a ribbon cutting will take place at 6:30 p.m. with musical act Dreadful Greta performing following brief remarks. It will also be Family Fun Night with bounce houses and other family-friendly activities.
Food will be available for purchase all season via a food truck serviced by Bon Appetit.
“We are excited to be back in Robe-Ann Park and under a beautiful new bandshell,” said LaToshia Everson, who chairs the ParkFest committee for the Civic League. “We have a great lineup of musicians—including fan favorites and new-to-ParkFest acts. We hope the community comes out to join us for food, fun and music.”
The lineup for the season includes:
May 28: Dreadful Greta
June 4: Cole Woodruff and Cari Ray
June 11: Legend Puncher
June 18: Covered Bridge Harmony and Convergence
June 25: Dominic Rivers and Black Market Vinyl
July 2: Fret Set and Lincoln Street
July 9: him&her and Bridge 19
July 16: Chris Wurster and Blue River Band
July 30: Mike Van Rensselaer and Guiliana and The Gems
ParkFest will not take place on July 23 due to the Putnam County Fair.
A make-up rain date will be scheduled for Aug. 6.
