City pool to open Saturday

Monday, May 20, 2019

With 80-degree temperatures prevailing locally, we might feel summer’s creeping in but the season’s basically already arrived for the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department.

In fact, the city pool is already full of water and its filters and sanitary system have been up and running, treating the water to assure the Saturday, May 25 opening.

Season pool passes ($60 per individual, $175 for family pass for four family members, with each additional person adding $35) are available for purchase at the aquatic center or online (www.greencastleparks.com) along with registration for swim lessons.

Daily admission charges remain unchanged again this summer at $5 per person for those five and over. Youngsters age four and under are admitted free with an adult.

The pool will be open through Sunday, Aug. 11.

Hours for open swim are noon to 5 p.m. daily and 5-7 p.m. for the new twilight swim (with a reduced admission price of $3).

The adjacent Bob York Splash Park is open free of charge from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
