City Police

Two recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:20 p.m. Thursday, a mishap occurred on South Street near Woodhaven Drive as Charles Sage II, 33, Greencastle, was eastbound on South Street, driving a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Officer Alec Pettit reported that Sage did not see a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, owned by Darby King, Greencastle, parked alongside the road and struck the parked vehicle.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 11:08 a.m. Thursday, three teenage drivers were involved in an accident on Indianapolis Road near 10th Street.

Sgt. Ed Wilson reported that a vehicle in front of Kaylee Campbell, 17, Coatesville, stopped abruptly, causing her to apply her brakes quickly to avoid a collision.

However, her 2008 Toyota Corolla was struck from behind when Sarah Clark, 17, Greencastle, was unable to stop her 2002 Jeep Liberty in time to avoid a collision, and a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Seelye Stoffregen, 18, Greencastle, likewise couldn’t stop in time and struck the rear of the Clark car.

Total damage in the three-vehicle accident was listed at $5,000-$10,000.

One recent citation was issued by city officers.

• At 1:34 a.m. Sunday, Keith Tincher, 54, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Elsiana Crosby.

Stopped on County Road 150 West, Tincher was ticketed for having an expired license plate (2018).

Officer Crosby made the traffic stop because the plate and sticker did not match. The plate reportedly later turned out to be stolen.

The Greencastle Fire Department recently performed three medical assists.
