County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:13 p.m. Kerry Justin Moore, 58, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 7:47 p.m. James Douglas Swindler, 32, Richmond, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 6:34 p.m. William John Smith, 28, Poland, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:55 p.m. Michael Antwan Johnson, 40, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 10:40 a.m. Michael David Blackmore, 21, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and for being a felon in possession of a handgun.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Richard Lacey, 38, Cloverdale, was arrested by Capt. Chris Jones.

Taken into custody at a Castlebury Apartments residence, Lacey was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a Marion County warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 5:24 p.m. on Thursday, Gary Crabb, 60, Harmony, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2014 Chevrolet when a deer ran into the passenger side of the vehicle.

Deputy Bobby Boyd estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department performed one recent medical assist.
