Turk to lead workshop at national JAG conference
Highlighting his success as a specialist for the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program at Cloverdale High School, Karl Turk has been selected to lead a best practices workshop at JAG’s National Training Seminar and Professional Development Workshops in Orlando, Fla.
The event will be held July 7-12, and will be the 36th year that JAG specialists, managers, trainers and administrators have convened from across the United States to network and learn about strategies to connect students to opportunities.
The National Training Seminar focuses on professional development for members of the JAG National Network, which is comprised of at least 34 state JAG organizations and 1,250 program affiliates nationwide.
In an email to the Banner Graphic informing of Turk’s selection as a workshop leader, Superintendent Greg Linton said that his attendance was a “great opportunity” for the Cloverdale JAG program.
JAG is a state-based, school-to-career program committed to stemming dropouts among students who may have significant obstacles to graduation or employment, and enables work-based learning experiences which can lead to greater success after high school.
Cloverdale High School’s JAG program is part of Region Seven in Indiana, which consists of all of the high schools in Putnam, Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vigo and Vermillion counties.
