Second Saturday to promote fitness during June 8 event

Local families are invited to a night of free family fun and fitness Saturday in downtown Greencastle on June 8.

Organizers of the monthly Second Saturday event have partnered with the Keith CARR Memorial 5K for a night that promotes physical activity.

The annual race is set for 5 p.m. at Deer Meadow Primary School. Afterward, there will be a celebration on South Indiana Street from 7-11 p.m.

That day and place just happen to coincide with Second Saturday, which will be on South Indiana from 6-8 p.m., centered mainly on activities related to keeping one physically active and healthy.

Also as part of the festivities, the Greencastle Rotary Club will have reading time with some of its members and free books for kids handed out courtesy of Putnam County Hospital.

Second Saturday is provided free to all participants.
