County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:19 p.m. Eric Steven Barcus, 44, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 7:45 p.m. Matthew Todd Earle, 21, Greencastle, was taken into custody for battery resulting in bodily injury.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 10:46 a.m. Jasmine R. Blankenship, 18, Cloverdale, was southbound on State Road 243 approaching County Road 1260 South in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu when she hit a deer.

Deputy Brian Helmer estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 4:32 p.m. on Thursday, GFD returned to the site of a structure fire at 2947 E. CR 275 South. Units arrived at the property at 4:41 and put out remaining fires which had flared up in the debris. GFD returned to station at 5:29 p.m.

Additionally, GFD had one disregard before this dispatch.
