Kevin Johnston

As a husband, father of three, youth minister and fourth-grade teacher, Kevin Johnston plays a lot of roles.

On Monday at Robe-Ann Park, he’ll be playing one of his favorites, that of musician and entertainer of children.

Johnston will be the feature performer at the weekly edition of Music Mondays, set for 12:30 p.m. at Robe-Ann Park shelterhouse No. 2.

Residing with his family in in Greencastle, Johnston spends most of his time mowing the lawn and making school lunches. He has written and recorded a CD of children’s songs that teach the parables of Jesus.

For the past several years, he and his fourth-grade students have performed an annual concert of his original Indiana history songs. He has shared his love of learning and music with local children for the past 20 years.

Other upcoming Music Mondays will feature Mike Van Rensselaer on June 24 and the Gambill Family on July 1.

In the event of rain, the Music Mondays shows will be moved to Ridpath Primary School.

The Music Mondays kids concert series is a gift to the community from Greencastle Christian Church.
