Tippin to talk Tiny Towns again Thursday at PCM

Monday, June 24, 2019

Putnam County historian Larry Tippin’s popular small-town series, “Rediscovering Putnam County: Tiny Towns and Vanished Villages,” will continue Thursday, June 27 at the Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle.

The 6:30 p.m. program is free and open to the public.

In the latest installment of the series, Tippin will be talking this month about Fort Red/Barnard, Wheaton, Greencastle Junction/Limedale and Carthage/Mt. Meridian.

Each month’s talk encompasses a place or places in each tier of Putnam County townships, north, central and south.

As always, Tippin will talk about the research he’s done in establishing where some places once stood, what happened there and who lived, worked and traded in that location.

For more information, persons may contact the Putnam County Museum at 653-8419 or email info@putnamcountymuseum.org.
