New candidates file for Bainbridge, Fillmore posts

With time ticking away until the close of the municipal election filing period at noon on Monday, July 1, two new candidates have added their names to local elections.

Jayna Haldeman, who was appointed clerk-treasurer in Fillmore last year, will appear on the ballot for the first time, having filed her candidacy on Wednesday.

Haldeman joins Tonya Gruenholz as independent candidates seeking the post.

Additionally, Bainbridge has its first candidate for clerk-treasurer in Bobbi Boller.

Four years ago, Boller finished just five votes shy of current clerk-treasurer Monica Bray in a three-way race for the position.

Bray has not filed to seek a second term.

All other races remained unchanged from earlier filings as of Thursday afternoon.

For anyone wishing to obtain and file candidate paperwork, the Putnam County Voter Registration Office is located on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse and is open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All completed candidate paperwork must be turned in by noon on Monday, July 1.

Voters in all county municipalities are set to go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
