Seven young Putnam County ladies will be vying for the title of Miss Putnam County Fair Queen 2019 on Saturday, July 13. Reigning Queen Raegan Bowling (fourth from right) will be crowning her successor at the conclusion of the 7 p.m. contest at the Fairgrounds Community Building, with doors to open at 6:30. The young ladies in the hunt for the 2019 crown are (from left) Philisha Sanders, Madison Woodall, Hannah York, Nicole Newgent, Madison Short, Taylor Goss and A.J. Hornback. Tickets are $5 each with free admission for kids five years and younger. The queen contest won’t be the only major event taking place a week in advance of the fair, as the 2019 Putnam County Fair Parade is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 14.
