• At 11:53 a.m. Orval Huskisson, 84, Greencastle, was westbound on West Walnut in a 2018 Toyota Tundra.

Huskisson told Deputy Tanner Brown that at the last minute, he noticed forks sticking out in the roadway from a tractor. He could not avoid hitting the forks.

Rudy Peachy, 22, Rockville, had the John Deere tractor, which is owned by DH Fencing, parked on the roadside at the time. He said he was aware of the forks in the road and was going to have someone go out in the road so he could pull forward for fencing.

Brown estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

•At 5:35 a.m. Patrisha Fortner, 39, Carlisle, was eastbound on Interstate 70 in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Fortner told Deputy Brown she blinked and her vehicle was starting to drive into the grass median. She then overcorrected, crossing both lanes and hitting a guardrail.

The SV rolled onto its side in the ditch.

Fortner said her body was sore but signed a statement of release.

She was cited for driving without financial responsibility.
