Putnam Scanner for July 20, 2019

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Friday

• At 3:10 a.m. Amanda Jane Alexander, 29, Brazil, was booked in for driving with a suspended license and on a local warrant.

• At 2:52 a.m. Mark Eugene Brooks, 48, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 8:48 p.m. Hope Leanne Rush, 48, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

• At 6:59 p.m. Chad Ryan Posey, 34, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

Greencastle Police made one recent arrest.

• At 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Matthew Earle, 21, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Nick Eastham.

Taken into custody at a Castlebury Drive residence, Earle was charged with possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 6:03 a.m. on Thursday, Christopher Ballard, 53, Cloverdale, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado when he hit a deer.

Ballard had a small, open wound on his hand but refused medical treatment.

The truck was towed. Deputy Tanner Brown estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently performed four medical assists and had one disregard.
