To help ensure the blood supply doesn’t run low in the summer months, Indiana Blood Center, part of Versiti, has partnered with the Indianapolis Colts to create the Colts Leadership Challenge.

The program, which began in 2012, encourages Indiana high school football teams to exercise their influence and leadership in their respective communities to host a blood drive between now through July 25.

To win the challenge, a team must host the largest blood drive in the state or achieve the largest percentage participation based on the team’s school size. There is also a wild card prize, awarded through a drawing of all teams with at least 30 participants at their drive. The winning team receives a $2,500 equipment grant from the Colts, VIP access to the Colts training camp, recognition from the Indiana Football Coaches Association and more.
