Carolyn Sue Spencer

Carolyn Sue Spencer, 83, of Rockville, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Otis and Hazel Wilson Clodfelter.

She was preceded in death by her three sons, Mark Raymond, Reeve Bernard and Ralph Randel Spencer, in 1977; her son-in law, Gregory L. Chapman; and her sister, Mildred Lou Keeney.

Carolyn was a registered nurse and worked at the IU Medical Center in Indianapolis, on the clinical research unit and later in private duty.

She loved to play the piano and organ and played beautifully, never learning to read music. She used her gift to play for many events and many years in the Portland Mills Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Spencer Chapman Kissick of Rockville; two granddaughters, Sarah (Adam) McNeill of Franklin and Kate (Caleb) Overpeck of Muncie; six granddaughters, Kaila, Megan, Annabelle McNeill, Everly, Naomi and Emily Overpeck.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Carl Huxford officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Russellville.

Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Gooch Funeral Home.
