Silver Lining Players to present ‘Memory Care Plays’

Friday, July 26, 2019

The Silver Lining Players will be presenting two of the “Memory Care Plays” at The Waters at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.

This performance is free of charge and open to the public.

“Steering into the Skid” was written by Arnold Johnston and Deborah Ann Percy. It will be performed by Karen Temple and Bill Wieland.

“Riding the Waves” was written by L.E. Grabowski-Cotton and will be performed by Linda Ford, Jim Rambo and Karen Bailey Sutherlin.

Each play is about 30 minutes in length. Afterward, refreshments will be served, and an open discussion will take place.

The actors have found that the plays have resulted in lengthy discussions among themselves about their experiences with loved ones who have suffered from Alzheimer’s and dementia.

These plays were written and are being promoted “to entertain, instruct and ultimately bring wider attention to the looming personal and societal issues of cognitive impairment and its varying effects on families.”
