With participants and admirers alike enjoying a sunny day and classic rides, the annual Children’s Miracle Network Car, Truck and Bike Show celebrated its 10th year of making a difference for kids in need Saturday at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

Larry Hall of Walmart Distribution stated in an email to the Banner Graphic that numbers were down this year due in great part to the recent chip-and-seal project undertaken on U.S. 231. However, he recognized those who did make it out to the show.

“These great people who come every year have a lot of time, money and emotion wrapped up in their vehicles to take a chance of damaging them,” Hall wrote. “Overall, it was a really good show with some great weather.”

Ultimately, Cole Nanny of Avon earned Best in Show, as well as a People’s Choice award, with his 1965 Chevrolet C-10.

Though the totals have not been finalized as of Hall’s email Monday afternoon, at least 65 vehicles made it out to the fairgrounds, and organizers posit that approximately $7,000 was raised, all of which goes to Riley Hospital for Children.

“Riley treats nearly 300,000 kids each year, and it is amazing to hear all the great things that happen there,” Hall concluded.
