BG again seeks local Difference Makers

Monday, August 5, 2019

One of the finalists for the inaugural Difference Maker awards presented by the Banner Graphic said it best:

“Your greatness is not what you have, but what you give.”

Just like last year, the Banner Graphic event sponsors are again looking to honor Putnam County residents whose greatness shows through in what they give.

We are again asking for nominations of folks in the community who make a difference in someone else’s life.

In 2018, that resulted not only in Ruth Myers being named the 2018 Difference Maker of the Year, but also in a total of 10 people being honored for making a difference in the community, including John Berry, Robert Heavin, Jackie Hoffa, Beth Krampe, Randy Neeley, Shem Rees, Lee Stewart, Crystal Strotman and Alan Zerkel.

This year, community members have until 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 to nominate deserving people in the community for this year.

The submitted nominees will be narrowed to 10 and highlighted in a special section published in September.

Additionally, the top 10 finalists and their families will be honored at a special banquet on Sept. 26, at which time the 2019 Difference Maker of the Year will be announced and awarded with a special prize package.

As the 2018 winner and someone who is continuing to take the lead in the community, Myers will be the featured speaker at the Sept. 26 event.

An online nomination form is available at www.bannergraphic.com/forms/dm.

Forms are also available in the Banner Graphic. Physical forms may be mailed or dropped off to the office at 100 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135.
