One School, One Team, One Family

Having rolled out the new school chant of “One school, one team, one family, we rock” on Wednesday, Tzouanakis Intermediate School principal Jennfer Rhoades helps some of the younger members of the Tzouanakis family find their way to the bus after the first day of school. Rhoades, who is beginning her first full year as principal, said Wednesday was a good first day at the Greencastle intermediate school, with instructional assistants and parent volunteers helping shepherd kids to their new classrooms in the morning. Rhoades and assistant principal Katherine Asbell, another familiar face in a new place, visited each of the school’s six pods to introduce the new chant and promote a positive environment. “We’re trying to build the sense that we do things for each other,” Rhoades said. Rhoades spent more than four years as Tzouanakis assistant principal before becoming interim principal last November and eventually having the interim tag dropped in March. Asbell, a former elememtary teacher, has spent the last 14 years as a guidance counselor at Greencastle Middle School.
