In recognition of Jim Maxwell’s longstanding support of National Night Out and particularly the bicycle safety program, the program has been renamed the Jim Maxwell Bicycle Safety Program. Accepting a plaque noting this honor is Maxwell’s widow Loretta (center), joined by Stacie Langdon, a member of the Greencastle Kiwanis Club, of which Maxwell was also a longtime member. Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherlin, who co-chairs the National Night Out committee, presents the award to Loretta Maxwell. A copy of the plaque will hang in the Kiwanis Room at the Putnam County Public Library. Maxwell recently passed away in April.
