Ida Mildred Sutherlin

Ida Mildred Sutherlin, 94, of Greencastle, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019.

She was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Clairmont to the late James and Bessie (Page) Mitchell.

Mildred married Robert Sutherlin on April 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2009.

She is survived by her sons Roger Sutherlin and his wife Paula of Greencastle and Gordon Sutherlin and his wife Cynthia of Quitman, Ark.; daughter Teresa Parker and her husband Rusty of Dover, Ark.; brothers Charles Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her daughter Luanne Golden; great-grandson Riley Sutherlin; and brothers Alva Mitchell, Carl Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Durbin Mitchell, Russel Mitchell, Nelson Mitchell and Milford Mitchell.

Funeral services for Mildred will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 17 at Whitaker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in a family cemetery south of Mt. Meridian.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service time Saturday and from 4-8 p.m. on Friday Aug. 16 at the funeral home.
