Rev. Charles Edward Wood

Rev. Charles E. Wood, 91, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019.

He was born Nov. 18, 1927 in Vincennes, the son of Harvey Travis and Clara (Freshly) Wood.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force.

Rev. Wood had received his master’s degree in theology and pastored in several United Methodist Churches throughout Indiana. He was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Mary E. (Kendle) Wood; children Mark Wood, Maurice “Sonny” (wife Marcia) Wood and Janet (husband August) Wood Rock; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of services.
