Paul Ray Breece

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Paul Ray Breece, 60, of Roachdale (Indianapolis), passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1958, in Indianapolis, to the late Paul T. Breece I and Carolyn Sue Sorenson.

Paul was a 1976 graduate of Ben Davis High School. He was a star baseball player and enjoyed spending time on the ball field. He was a General Motors employee, starting his career in 1977 and retiring in 1999. He made several good friends while working there who have stood by his side through thick and thin.

He was a big sports fan, especially watching IU basketball, the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis 500. He was fortunate enough to be able to help out occasionally with a few Indy race teams, and was able to enjoy being up close and personal on pit row. In the race world, he will be remembered for his “Hot Dog Roller Dogs” and being Crashy the Clown. He loved to make everyone laugh, even on the most stressful days at the track.

He also enjoyed watching both of his granddaughters play basketball and softball.

He is survived by his son, Paul T. Breece II, and daughter Lauren R. Breece; sisters Beth Ann Garrison and Sherri S. Lytle (Duane); brother Thomas E. Breece (Laura); uncle Isaac E. Breece (Peggy), grandchildren, Ava R. Breece and Julia M. Rich; nieces and nephews Josh Breece, Kelsey (Joel) Strickland, David Breece, Dustin Lytle, Bethany (Andrew) Cook and daughter Elizabeth, Mary and son Judah, and Ella Garrison; and lifetime best friend Rick (Orch) Longstreth.

A celebration of life for Paul Ray Breece will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 at Barbecue and Bourbon located at 1414 N. Main St., Speedway, from 2-6 p.m. in the upper level banquet room. Please come by and celebrate with us.
