Friday, August 23, 2019

Myers’ Market will donate 10 percent of all grocery purchases purchased on Thursday, Sept. 5 to the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library will use all donated funds to support the Imagination Library which puts a book in the hands of children from birth through five years old each month.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.

Welcome bags will be given away at the library to every new card holder who signs up in September. A library card is the key to free books, movies, video games, blu-ray discs and much more. Check out e-books and e-audiobooks on a phone or tablet for free using a library card. Bikes are available for check out as well.
