The North Putnam Alumni Association will be hosting a 50-year celebration of North Putnam High School at this year’s alumni banquet on Friday, Sept. 13.

All alumni and guests are encouraged to attend, and anyone who has an interest in North Putnam Schools is also welcome.

Student activities at the homecoming football game against Sullivan High School will be integrated into the event.

There will be a meet-and-greet starting at 4:30 p.m. in the middle school commons, and, because of this milestone, the banquet will be held in the high school gymnasium. The banquet will start at 5:30 p.m.

Following the program, attendees will have access to the homecoming game that includes VIP seating. The alumni association will have many activities for adults and children, so attendees are encouraged to bring their whole family.

The banquet is an all-class reunion that will feature the classes which graduated in 1970, 1979, 1989, 1999 and 2009, and, for the first time, will also honor the most recent graduating class.

Those in attendance will include peers, current students, North Putnam staff and representatives from the Bainbridge, Roachdale and Russellville alumni associations.

The alumni association will award service grants to current high school students, honor former Roachdale Hardware owner Charley Riggle and Roachdale Elementary counselor Dan McMurtry as honorary alumni and introduce longtime director of instrumental music John T. Wilson as the keynote speaker.

Reservations must be made by Sept. 3 on the North Putnam alumni website at northputnamalumniassociation.com/wp or by mailing payment to North Putnam Alumni Association, P.O. Box 193, Bainbridge, IN 46105.

An adult meal is $22 and a kid’s meal is $10. Please indicate if either chicken or pulled pork is preferred.

Those unable to attend the banquet may donate in memory or in honor of an individual into the scholarship fund.
