County Jail

Nine people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 9:24 p.m. Christopher Joseph Elrod, 44, Quincy, was lodged at the jail for resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, driving with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated-refusal, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 1:52 p.m. Cory E. Smith, 34, Crawfordsville, was taken into custody for bond revocation.

• At 11:30 a.m. Jeremy Dale West, 42, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 6:21 p.m. Dwayne Arthur Doolin, 31, Reelsville, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 5:18 p.m. Joshua Allen Smith, 36, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for false informing.

• At 5:03 p.m. Frederick Buttery Jr., 45, Greencastle, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 2:38 p.m. Trystien Lee Boswell, 20, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 2:36 p.m. Tiffany Marie Rominger, 28, Cloverdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 1:22 p.m. Roy W. Hodges, 43, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Robert C. Lindsay, 33, Midlothian, Va., was northbound on U.S. 231 just north of County Road 350 South when a deer rand into the driver’s side of his 2003 Mercury Sable.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five recent dispatches:

• At 4:44 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:47 and believed the alarm was due to odor from ironing clothes. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 5:06 p.m.

• At 8:19 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 407 S. Jackson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at approximately 8:20 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 8:32 p.m.

• At 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched again to Humbert Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:50 and determined the alarm had malfunctioned. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 8:59 p.m.

• At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to the Putnam County Hospital for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:11 though the alarm had already been reset. No cause for the alarm was determined. GFD returned to station at 6:20 p.m.

• At 5:52 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 719 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:59 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. Maintenance was called, and GFD went back into service at 6:07 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed two medical assists after these dispatches.
