On Wednesday, the Putnam County Hospital sponsored and hosted the 2019 Senior Health Fair at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. With more than 340 senior in attendance and 35 vendors, the event was considered a great success.

The morning started at 10 a.m. with the doors opening to seniors lined up around the York Community Building.

They were able to visit with and learn about many different resources that the community has to offer. Putnam County Occupational Health offered blood pressure checks for each person in attendance.

A free lunch provided by The Waters of Greencastle and Hickory Creek at Sunset was given to each person in attendance. Lunch was then followed by bingo.

Autumn Glen supplied the cards, while Réna Sneed, Jennifer Dunfee and Lesli Fordice from the hospital all called four games of bingo.

The afternoon concluded with each vendor introducing themselves, their company and drawing for a fun door prize.

“This event is absolutely amazing for the seniors in our community,” said Brooke Trissel, director of marketing and community relations. “It is imperative that they know what resources our community can provide, but it is also a chance to get our and mingle with their peers, enjoy a great lunch and have some fun.”
