Rotary hosting wine and chocolate event

Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Following the success of the inaugural event last year, the Greencastle Rotary Club will host a wine and chocolate tasting on World Polio Day, Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 5:30-8 p.m. in the bar at the Putnam Inn.

The proceeds from this event will be donated to Rotary’s End Polio Now initiative.

Rotary is partnering with the Putnam Inn, Fine Line Chocolates and the Putnam County Hospital to present the event.

Rotarians have been fighting to eradicate polio for more than 30 years, and the organization says it is close to achieving its top priority.

“The goal is to bring awareness to our community members about Rotary and the fight to end polio,” said President-Elect Brooke Trissel. “Great strides have been taken to end polio, and we are so close to playing a part in ending it. We would love to share our message with our community while they enjoy some amazing wine and chocolate.

“Last year’s event was a success, and we are hoping that each year we continue to grow the event and awareness,” added Trissel.

The evening will also include education on the different wines and chocolates that will be sampled, raffle baskets and a chance for networking.

The ticket cost for the event is $25 per person.

Contact Trissel, Ginger Scott, Jenny Sullivan or any Rotarian to purchase tickets.
