City Police

One recent traffic accident involving personal injury was reported by Greencastle City **Police officers.

• At 12:29 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at South Jackson and West Walnut streets that sent two people to Putnam County Hospital.

Chief Tom Sutherlin reported that Stephanie Rawley, 21, Brazil — accompanied by two juvenile passengers — was northbound on Jackson Street in a 2003 Dodge Durango.

As she approached the intersection with West Walnut, a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Melissa Masten Miller, 51, Greencastle, entered the intersection westbound after stopping of the stopsign at Jackson Street.

Miller told police she waited for a northbound vehicle to clear the intersection and then pulled out, checking northbound again but reportedly not seeing the Rawley vehicle.

Rawley and a five-year-old passenger were taken to Putnam County Hospital by Operation Life ambulance.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County deputies investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jasmine Forschner, 31, Brazil, was southbound on Manhattan Road in a 1995 Honda Civic.

She told Deputy Robert Soilleux her car had bald tires and she was going a little too fast for the corner she was approaching and lost control. She slid in the ditch as she rounded the corner.

Forschner said she was not injured and refused medical aid.

Soilleux cited her for 9-24-13-3, 9-21-7-1 and 9-21-5-1.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nancy L. Gibson, 50, New Market, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2008 Chevrolet HHR when she hit a deer.

Deputy Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 6:54 a.m. on Tuesday, Clint W. Hall, 62, Greencastle, was attempting to leave the southeast exit of the Kwik Mart Marathon and U.S. 40 and U.S. 231 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

He told Deputy Soilleux passing traffic was not allowing him to merge, so he decided to try another exit.

Hall said he looked in his mirrors, however, he did not see the 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Cassondra L. Miller, 39, Greencastle, that was behind him.

Miller told Soilleux that Hall backed into her car.

Soilleux estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
