Activist, writer and preacher Jonathan Martin will visit Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greencastle, at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21.

Martin will be speaking about “The In Between Space,” a conversation addressing faith, religious nationalism and social justice.

As Martin explains, this conversation considers what it means not to look out for ourselves, our interests or even our own faith — but to stand in between the world and its own self-destruction.

How can believers stand for peace and justice for all people? Martin is convinced this is the task to which all are called — not to stand in the safe middle, but the dangerous in-between.

Refreshments will be served.

In anticipation of Martin’s visit, a limited number of free copies of his book, “How to Survive a Shipwreck,” are available at the DePauw University Center for Spiritual Life as well as at Gobin.
