A couple of special events are coming up at the Putnam County Public Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

Let’s Read a Book with American Family Insurance

Saturday, Oct. 26, 2-3 p.m.: Enjoy stories being read by Nikki Dunford, agency staff. Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume for a chance to win a big pumpkin and a $10 gift card for McDonald’s for best costume.

How Life Will Change During The Climate Crisis

Monday, Oct. 28, 6:30-8 p.m.: Etti deLaczay will address the topic of how life will change in the climate crisis. This is the final program in the Climate Change series.

“Ecology has been at the center of my sociological interests and activism throughout my life,” deLaczay said. “I felt the necessity to address the larger issues facing all of humanity — the dangers to human civilization posed by nuclear power, genetic modification and our impact on the planetary ecosystem.”

Get flexible and fit at the library. Tai Chi begins at 11:30 a.m.

Wrap up the day with a jam session at Ukulele Jam from 6-7 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 24

With something fun for the little ones, enjoy Toddler Storytime at 10 a.m. and Preschool Storytime at 11 a.m.

Enjoy a friendly game of bridge at Bridge for Everyone at 1:30 p.m.

Knitting Club For Kids begins at 4 p.m. You bring the creativity, we’ll bring the materials.

Get flexible and fit with LibrarYoga at 5:30 p.m. with a certified yoga instructors.

Friday, Oct. 25

On Fridays, the staff takes it slow at the library. Take a little break from screens during Imagination Portal Unplugged from 9 a.m.-noon in the Imagination Portal.

Monday, Oct. 28

Begin the week with a refreshing absence of technology during Imagination Portal Unplugged from 9 a.m.-noon in the Imagination Portal.

Crafts + Afternoons means Crafternoon. The fun begins at 4 p.m.

Bring a needlework project to Yarn Perch from 5-7 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

We begin the day with Baby and Me at 11 a.m. where parents can spend quality time with their little ones building literacy skills.

Tween Homeschool Book Club begins at 1 p.m. and we will discuss “The Jumbies: by Tracey Baptiste.

Kids’ Coding Club continues this week at 4 p.m. Make sure that you are registered for this program.
