Norma ‘Joan’ Everman

Norma “Joan” Everman, 87, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019 at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on Aug. 18, 1932 in Russellville to the late Floyd and Helen (McCormick) Trump.

On Aug. 2, 1953 in Russellville, she married Wayne Everman. He preceded her in death.

Joan worked as a secretary most of her life, beginning with the North Putnam Community School Corporation superintendent’s office from 1968 to 1998. After which, she then began working as the secretary for the Russellville Community Church, where she worked until very recently.

She enjoyed reading, baking and visiting with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and her church.

The is survived by her son, Phil (Michele) Everman of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Jennifer (T.J.) Hawthorne of Charleston, S.C., and Jamie Everman of Atlanta; step-granddaughter Lindsey (Cody) McGowan of Dyersburg; step-grandson, Matt Williams of Lewiston, Idaho; great-grandchildren; Declan Hawthorne, Brynn Hawthorne, Marshall Duvall and Adisyn McGowan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at Russellville Community Church, 103 3rd St., Russellville, with Pastor Alan Small officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 2-6 p.m. at the church. Memorial Contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Russellville Community Church or the Russellville Community Center. Envelopes will be available.
