The Parke County Sheriff’s Department has identified the two victims of a fatal crash involving an Amish buggy Saturday morning in Clay County.

Meanwhile, the two surviving members of the young family were released from the hospital on Sunday.

The deceased family members are 24-year-old Tina Detweiler and her two-year-old son Kenneth. Both were Parke County residents

The mother was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy was later pronounced dead at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil.

The father, 24-year-old Abraham Detweiler, and five-month-old daughter Kathryn Detweiler were transported to Indianapolis hospitals by air ambulance. They were both released on Sunday.

The Detweilers were westbound about 9:45 a.m., east of the Raccoon Lake Bridge, when their buggy was struck by a westbound 2109 Ford van driven by Steven Miller Ealy, 66, of Danville.

The collision forced the buggy off the road, killing or injuring all four family members.

Ealy was uninjured in the accident. There currently are no charges pending against him
