Jerry Torr named to board of Indiana Humanities

Indiana Humanities’ board of directors has appointed Greencastle native Jerry Torr and five others as new members while electing its slate of officers for 2020-21.

State Rep. Torr (R-Carmel), the son of Kenny and Bev Torr of Greencastle, serves as national account manager at Near North Title Group in Carmel.

Joining the 61-year-old Torr, a 1976 Greencastle High School graduate, as new board members are:

• Cassandra Bausman, assistant professor and writing center director, Trine University, Angola;

• F. Brooke Dunn, associate, Faegre Baker Daniels, Indianapolis;

• Terri Jett, associate professor of political science, Butler University, Indianapolis;

• Suzanne M. Light, CEO, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Warsaw; and

• Mark Maassel, president, Indiana Energy Association, Valparaiso.

Indiana Humanities’ new board officers are:

-- Chairman Doran Moreland, vice president for diversity, Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis;

-- Chariman-elect Chris Gahl, senior vice president of marketing and communications, Visit Indy;

-- Secretary Rosemary Dorsa, vice president, Indiana Philanthropy Alliance and director, GIFT Technical Assistance Program; and

-- Treasurer Mark Maassel, president, Indiana Energy Association, Valparaiso.

Indiana Humanities is a statewide nonprofit organization that encourages Hoosiers to think, read and talk by participating in humanities programs and activities.
