Margaret Mary (Browne) Gaddis

Margaret Mary (Browne) Gaddis born on Feb. 7, 1934 in Tralee, Ireland, to Margaret Mary Browne.

She passed peaceably at home on Nov. 18, 2019 at the age of 85.

Margaret met her husband, U.S. Air Force Airman Marcel Ross Gaddis, in England. She came to the United States in 1959 and married Marcel Ross Gaddis in 1961 in Quincy.

They traveled to many duty stations to include Anchorage, Alaska, Portland, Ore., and California and had 5fivechildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Marcel, who passed away Nov. 21, 2016.

Margaret is survived by her cousins Patrick Brosnan and Margaret Murphy of Tralee, Ireland.

She is also survived by her five children, Marcel R. Gaddis of Spencer, Kevin P. Gaddis of Springfield, Va., Geraldine F. Winston of Andrews, N.C., Paul L. Gaddis of Murphy, N.C. and Shannon J. Delp (Steve) of Spencer; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

After raising her children, Margaret worked for many years at the Cloverdale Convalescent Center. She enjoyed family, friends, music, gardening, following politics and current events. Margaret lived in Cloverdale, a town she loved, for more than 40 years before moving in with her daughter Shannon, who lovingly provided care during her last years.

Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of Margaret’s life on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Garrard Chapel Church, 7410 W. State Road 46, Bowling Green. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the funeral service at noon.

All are invited to attend graveside services immediately afterwards at Combes Cemetery, 2 p.m. Combes Rd, Quincy.
