Chamber, Main Street reward shopping small on Small Business Saturday

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Greencastle are urging residents to shop locally, particularly on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30.

“Our community is a lucky one when it comes to the great small businesses that we have,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian Cox said. “We continuously ask for them to give to our non-profit organizations, our silent auctions and our fundraisers, and they do it with a smile.

“They support our community and our causes time and time again,” Cox added. “Now the Chamber is asking you to support them by shopping local this holiday season.” By supporting local businesses, residents are supporting the local community. For every $1 spent locally, 67 cents stays in our community.

The Chamber and MainStreet Greencastle are putting together a drawing to thank customers for shopping local. Anyone who shops at a small local business on Saturday is encouraged to take a picture of at the business and tag the Chamber @GreaterGreencastleChamberofCommerce on Facebook. This will enter customers in a drawing to win a $200 gift card at that business.

Addtionally, for each day from Monday, Dec. 2 through Monday, Dec. 6, the Chamber will also draw for a $50 gift card for those who tag the Chamber when they post their small business shopping photos on Facebook.

“The Greater Greencastle Chamber and Main Street Greencastle thank you for supporting locally owned business the way they have supported you,” Cox said.
