Donna L. (Walker) Schmalix

Donna L. (Walker) Schmalix, 71, of Belle Union, passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at her residence.

She was born to the late Arlyn and Agnes (Thompson) Walker on July 13, 1948 in Indianapolis.

A graduate of Fillmore High School, Donna went on to attend Indiana State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. It was there she met her future husband, Tom, and they were united in marriage on April 3, 1971.

Donna worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service in Indianapolis.

Along with her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Schmali, and sisters Helen Walker and Karen Walker.

Donna was surrounded by her loving family when she left the earthly world. Those by her side were her daughter and son-in-law, Steffanie and Wayne Campbell; grandchildren Cale and A.J. Hornback; and cousins Brenda and Steve Moore, Kevin Dyer and Heather Moore. She will be deeply missed.

Arrangements are entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Cloverdale.
