Mary Irene Douthitt Hendrickson

Mary Irene Douthitt Hendrickson, 91, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville.

She was born in Marion County on Dec. 23, 1927 to the late Jesse Wm. and Grace (Dickson) Douthitt.

Mary graduated from Greencastle High School, and spent most her life pursuing a career in real estate.

She attended the Brazil Church of the Nazarene, and was a member of the Optimist Club. Mary loved working in her yard and gardens, as well as going out and spring time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harold Hendrickson I; son, Joe Hendrickson II; brothers, William and Roy Douthitt; granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Hendrickson; and a great-great-grandson.

Survivors include her son, James W. (Brenda) Hendrickson Sr. of Brazil; daughter, Dixie Marie Rennick of Brazil; daughter-in-law, Sara Jayne Hendrickson of Center Point; sister-in-law Jo Douthitt of South Bend; grandchildren Kimberly Jo Hendrickson, Heather Cinnamon Staebler, Amanda Jo Hendrickson and James W. Hendrickson Jr.; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
