A Reelsville woman is accused of driving with more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream following a recent hit-and-run crash.

Brittany L. Price, 32, tested at .36 alcohol concentration equivalent when police were investigating the Nov. 25 incident.

Putnam County sheriff’s Deputy Randy Patrick reports that police were called to a residence on West County Road 300 South for the hit and run at 5:36 p.m. for an incident in which a vehicle was leaving the driveway and hit a parked 2006 Honda Accord registered to Sherry Smock of Indianapolis.

Officers later located the other vehicle, a 2007 Dodge Caravan registered to price, at her Reelsville residence.

Price admitted to deputies she had been driving the van but denied hitting the car.

Upon speaking to Price, officers investigated her for driving while intoxicated. After administering the portable breath test, officers had her transported to Putnam County Hospital due to her high level of intoxication.

She was booked in the Putnam County Jail at 8:33 p.m. for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and driving while intoxicated.

Patrick estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

Deputy Tanner Brown assisted with the investigation.
