Monday, December 2, 2019

RUSSELLVILLE — To help Russellville and nearby communities bring in the Christmas season, the 18th-annual Community Christmas Choir will present “The Star Still Shines” Dec. 6-8 at the Russellville Community Center.

On Dec. 6 and 7, The annual Christmas cantata will include a dinner at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. On Dec. 8, a lunch will be served at noon before a 1:30 p.m. performance.

The cantata is arranged and orchestrated by Cliff Duren, with narrations given by Nan Allen.

While the event is free, donations of non-perishable food items are encouraged and will be collected to benefit food banks in Putnam, Parke and Montgomery counties. A free-will offering will also be collected for the meal, with the proceeds benefiting the Russellville Community Center.

A Christmas bake sale will also be on tap, as well as quilt and gift basket raffles. Proceeds from these will go toward organizing the 2020 Community Christmas Choir.
