Gobin Church holiday cookie sale to benefit Circles of Putnam County

Thursday, December 5, 2019

Don’t have time to bake homemade cookies this holiday season? Then come to the 28th annual Holiday Cookie Sale at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon

Come early for the best selection of homemade cookies baked by members of Gobin.

Customers will don a plastic glove and make their own selections from trays of colorful homemade cookies. They can choose the kind, number and size of the cookies to put in a decorated container. Decorated containers of two sizes will be available for sale — a small container for $5 and a large container for $11.

To get to the cookie sale, use the Simpson Street entrance with the glass doors on the south side of the church building. The sale will be conducted in the church’s basement. An elevator is available for those wishing to avoid the stairs.

This year’s proceeds will be given to Circles of Putnam County. Circles helps families become financially stable with a unique approach. Individuals receive training on finances, employment, health and communication skills.

What really makes Circles different is the relationships formed. Circles participants are matched with two middle-income volunteers that give them support. Getting out of poverty is easier with a circle of support.
