Gingerbread Land

Ja’el Thomas of DePauw University won the Adult Division with her Cottage Home entry, while James Wilder Henry, Greencastle, was the Youth Division winner with his Minion’s Banana Bread House. Neither Thomas nor Henry was present for the awards ceremony Thursday night.

As seasonal as Santa Claus and Christmas trees, the Lawrenz family from Morton – represented by Kim and son Seth – has again captured the Greencastle Park and Recreation Department’s Gingerbread House Contest, winning for the 11th straight year with their Sled Shed entry. Park Director Rod Weinschenk presents their first-place plaque in the Family Division.
