The Putnam County Community Foundation announced $97,962 in grant awards at the 2019 Fall Grant Awards Breakfast last Friday.

Jeff Blaydes, who chairs the Foundation’s Grants Committee, gratefully acknowledged the breakfast’s sponsor, Old National Bank.

The breakfast was catered by Almost Home and held in the community room at the Area 30 Career Center.

The early morning crowd was entertained by music students from Greencastle High School. The ensemble of clarinets, trombones and percussion showcased the new drum set purchased through a grant from the Foundation sought by the Greencastle Music Boosters.

Dean Gambill, director of community development, announced the awards from the Community Foundation’s unrestricted funds. Each grantee represented explained their project and the impact it can have on Putnam County.

“We are fortunate to have so many great nonprofits who seek to make things better in Putnam County,” Gambill said.

Youth Philanthropy Grants were recognized totaling $550. These grants are for youth-led community service projects.
