Charlotte Marilyn Churchill

Charlotte Marilyn Churchill, 94, of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 in Austin, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Charlotte was born in Greencastle on Oct. 31, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Mackie Lee (Cartwright) Brown.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School and an alumni of DePauw University.

Charlotte was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She retired from IBM in 1987 after 25 years of service.

Survivors include three children, Raymond Churchill II (Denise) of Fremont, Calif., Carmen Platt (Henry) of Austin and Rhonda Churchill-Smith of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; a sister, Betty Campbell of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Amon Churchill, Anjoli Hill, Jacob Churchill, Jason Smith and Matthan Churchill; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 46 years, Raymond, three brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Williams presiding. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
